an icy cold sweet treat is always the perfect way to end a meal, especially in singapore’s sweltering heat 😆 instead of the usual ice cream or traditional chinese desserts, this dessert spot serves asian-style gelato and shaved ice, with many of the ingredients handcrafted fresh every day!
there were 3 things that really stood out to me 😋
firstly, the hand-crushed ice! unlike the fine and fluffy texture of regular bingsu, this one is slightly coarser and crunchier, giving it a much more satisfying bite. every mouthful had a different texture, which made it so enjoyable from start to finish. the shaved ice is also drenched in milk, making it incredibly creamy with a rich milky flavour 🥛 by the end, it honestly felt like i was drinking a cup of fresh milk hahaha.
secondly, the fruits were AMAZING 🥭🍈 the mangoes were incredibly fresh, juicy and naturally sweet. the owner shared that they only use fresh fruits daily, and you can really taste the difference. they were such a vibrant yellow that i already knew they were going to be good before taking my first bite 😆 they were also super generous with the portions! the melon was sweet and refreshing too, although mango still wins for me hahaha.
lastly, the handcrafted toppings really impressed me 🤤 the rice balls are made in-house daily and were SUPER chewy and qq. i genuinely couldn’t stop eating them. the homemade beancurd in the melon bowl was another highlight, with a silky smooth and creamy texture that paired perfectly with the shaved ice.
overall, every bowl here is made with quality ingredients, generous portions and lots of care. from the fresh fruits to the handmade toppings, you can really taste the difference. i’ll definitely be back to try their durian desserts next, since the owner says they’re one of the bestsellers too 😋
