🧿✨Protection Candle✨🧿
This week has been feeling like a lot. Creating a protection candle is just what I needed. I usually do light a candle every morning while I do my journaling. This candle will be my go to for awhile. Just hope this helps lift this heavy energy.
Materials:
- White candle: Protection & cleansing
- Juniper Berries: Protection & warding
- Rue: Strong banishing herb, wards off curses, ill-wishing, and the “evil eye.”
- Bay leaf: Protection
- Carving tool
- Molasses: Slowing energy, to slow down harmful influences, gossip, enemies, or situations that feel out of control.
- You left over ash
- (Optional) Protection oil: created in a previous video
- (Optional) Black wax: Protection & banishing
Cleanse your area with incense smoke.
Crush the juniper berries until they are broken down to be used. Mix in the rest of the herbs that you wish to use. Stir in a clockwise motion while setting your intentions.
Anoint the candle how you see fit. Be careful using fire and always be prepared. I also sealed my herbs with wax.
Carve your protection symbols into your candle. I used the protection sigil warding off evil.
Create the mixture of the molasses and the ash that you save. After mixing, that the mixture and spread it across the carvings on your candle. Use a warm cloth to wipe off the excess mixture off the candle.
Carefully light your candle whenever you want.

Creating a protection candle is a deeply personal and empowering ritual that can bring a sense of peace and security during challenging times. From my experience, the process not only helps in cleansing negative energy but also establishes a mindful moment to set positive intentions for the day. I find starting with a white candle is essential since it symbolizes purity and protection, providing a blank canvas for personal energy work. Incorporating juniper berries and bay leaf enhances this protective power—juniper is known to shield against harm and bad luck, while bay leaf offers spiritual protection and manifestation support. Rue stands out as a potent herb; its traditional use for banishing curses and the “evil eye” adds a strong layer of defense in your candle mix. When I’ve included rue, I’ve noticed how it seems to create a subtle but noticeable shift in the energy around me, making me feel more grounded and secure. The addition of molasses and leftover ash is ingenious. Molasses is believed to slow down negative influences, allowing you to regain control over situations or gossip that might be affecting your well-being. Using ash from previous rituals symbolizes transformation and continuity, reinforcing your protective intent. In my practice, cleansing the area with incense before beginning is crucial to remove any lingering negativity. As you crush the juniper berries and mix all herbs, stirring clockwise acts as a physical manifestation of drawing protective energy in and setting your focused intention. Carving symbols, such as protection sigils, directly onto the candle personalizes the spell. Sealing herbs with wax ensures they remain spiritually potent during the candle’s burn. Applying the molasses and ash mixture over the carvings adds another tactile layer of energy to the ritual. Lighting the candle becomes a mindful act of invoking protection. I recommend maintaining focus and being present; this moment can shift your energy to a more grounded, safeguarded state. Remember to always practice fire safety when working with candles. Overall, crafting a protection candle is more than just assembling ingredients; it’s about intentionality, connection to natural elements, and empowering yourself through ritual. Whether you are new to these practices or experienced, this candle can serve as a comforting daily companion to lift heavy energy and protect your space.

Now I know why my candles aren’t right. I need to warm the outside. Thank you so much. I’m such a dummy.
