... Read moreHey everyone! So, you're heading to church camp? That's amazing! It's truly one of the most incredible experiences, a chance to grow closer to Jesus and connect with fellow believers. But let's be real, packing can feel a little overwhelming, right? Especially if it's your first time or you want to make sure you haven't forgotten anything crucial. Don't worry, I've got you covered with my go-to packing guide, based on years of camp wisdom!
First things first: Personal Hygiene & Self-Care. Trust me, feeling fresh makes all the difference! You’ll definitely need your basics like deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Don't forget a good face wash to keep your skin happy. Pro tip: travel-sized bottles are a lifesaver for saving space, and a dedicated toiletry bag keeps everything organized. Also, definitely pack some shower shoes (flip-flops work great!) and a quick-dry towel.
Next up, Hair Care Essentials. Camp life can be active, so keeping your hair manageable is key. Bring a trusty hairbrush or comb, along with plenty of hair ties and scrunchies. Hair clips and bobby pins are great for keeping strands out of your face during activities. If you use them, pack your favorite hair spray, mousse, or hair cream. And for those days when you're short on time (or hot water!), dry shampoo is a total game changer. Don't forget cute bows or headbands to add a little flair!
When it comes to Makeup & Skincare, less is often more at camp, but don't skip your essentials! Sunscreen is non-negotiable – you'll be spending lots of time outdoors. For your lips, chapstick, a lip mask, or a touch of lip gloss are perfect. If you like a little something extra, clear mascara or a hint of blush can brighten your look without being heavy. And don't forget to pack a few face masks for a relaxing evening with friends, plus a basic moisturizer and a gentle cleanser for your daily routine. Oh, and bug spray! You'll thank me later.
Now, for Clothing. Modesty and comfort are key for church camp. Think practical layers! Pack several t-shirts, comfortable knee-length shorts and skirts, and a few casual dresses. Don't forget at least one cozy hoodie or jacket for cooler evenings. Plenty of socks and undergarments are a must. For shoes, bring comfortable sneakers for activities, sandals for lounging, and those shower shoes I mentioned earlier. A hat or baseball cap is great for sun protection. Remember, you'll be moving around a lot, so choose clothes you can be active in while still feeling respectful.
Of course, Spiritual Items are at the heart of church camp! Your Bible is your most important companion. Consider bringing a devotional book, some prayer cards, and a notebook for sermons or jotting down reflections. A good pen is essential! Some people also like to bring a journal for personal thoughts.
Finally, the Extra Essentials that make camp life smoother. A reusable water bottle is crucial for staying hydrated. A small personal fan can be a lifesaver in warm weather. Don't forget sunglasses and more sunscreen! Pack some favorite non-perishable snacks for late-night chats or extra energy boosts. If there's water activity, swimwear is essential. Bring a cozy blanket for chill time and maybe an extra towel or two. A small backpack or day bag for daily excursions, a flashlight, a basic first-aid kit, and a laundry bag for dirty clothes are also super helpful. And don't forget your phone charger!
This comprehensive packing list should help you feel prepared and excited for your church camp adventure. With these items, you'll be ready to embrace every moment, make new friends, and deepen your faith journey. Get ready for an amazing time!
