Documenting my @ClassPass free trial journey 💪
Part 3: Fit 407 Reformer Full Body Sculpt with Maddy (8 Credits)
Okay, so you're probably here because you've heard about Fit 407 or maybe you're like me, diving headfirst into a ClassPass free trial and looking for the next challenging workout! My latest adventure took me to Fit 407 in Winter Park, Orlando, for their Reformer Full Body Sculpt with Maddy. And let me tell you, it was an experience! When I first signed up for this class, I had a feeling it would be intense – the name “Reformer Full Body Sculpt” already hints at it. But walking in, I still wasn't fully prepared for the Lagree/Megaformer style workout I was about to embark on. Unlike traditional Pilates, which I'm quite familiar with from my Club Pilates sessions, this was a whole different beast. It's high-intensity, low-impact, meaning you're working your muscles to fatigue without the jarring movements that can sometimes come with other high-intensity workouts. The OCR even mentioned it felt like a Solidcore class, and having heard about Solidcore's reputation, I knew I was in for a challenge. For anyone considering trying Fit 407, especially if it's your first time with a Lagree-style class, here's what to expect: prepare to feel muscles you didn't even know you had! The movements are slow and controlled, often holding positions for extended periods, making every second count. I found myself thinking, 'I can't keep up,' even though I regularly do Pilates and weight train. The studio environment at Fit 407 Winter Park was also unique, with low lighting that really helps you focus inwards. You'll definitely want grip socks to prevent slipping on the reformer, and a water bottle is a must. Don't be discouraged if you find it incredibly challenging; that's part of the design. As the OCR stated, 'I get why people have abs' – if you can stick with this, you're bound to see results! One of the biggest questions I had was how this Reformer Sculpt class compared to the regular Reformer Pilates I do. While many of the fundamental movements are similar to Pilates, the machine itself and the pace make it feel profoundly different. The springs on a Megaformer (which is what these Lagree-style classes often use) create constant tension, engaging your muscles throughout the entire range of motion. It's less about flowing through movements and more about controlled, muscle-quivering holds and slow transitions. If you're looking to shake up your routine or push your strength and endurance in a new way, Fit 407's Reformer Sculpt is a fantastic option. And for those of you in the Orlando area, looking for more fitness recommendations beyond Fit 407, I've heard great things about Jet Set Pilates and Hili Fitness. These were mentioned in the OCR and definitely pique my interest for future ClassPass explorations. Jet Set might offer another take on modern Pilates or Lagree, while Hili Fitness could provide a different high-intensity experience. The beauty of ClassPass, especially during a free trial, is getting to try out various studios and find what truly resonates with your fitness goals and preferences. Don't be afraid to experiment, just like I'm doing!
