Visiting Smorgasburg Williamsburg was truly an unforgettable food experience that showcased the diverse culinary creativity of Brooklyn’s food scene. One highlight for me was trying the Okonomiyaki from @oconomi, a Japanese savory pancake featuring yakisoba noodles and a fried egg on top. The combination of textures and flavors was unique—crispy on the edges but soft and savory inside, complemented perfectly by the rich, slightly smoky flavor of the noodles and the egg’s creaminess. This dish stands out as not only innovative but also deeply satisfying for anyone interested in Japanese cuisine with a modern twist. Another personal favorite was the Chorizo Fries from @Home Frite. Loaded with spicy chorizo and gooey cheese sauce, these fries offer a comforting yet elevated take on loaded fries that satisfy craving for something savory and indulgent. The balance of spice from the chorizo with the crispy fries made each bite deliciously addictive. I also loved the Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken Dakgangjeong from @JIMCHI. This Korean street food style fried chicken features a sticky, garlicky, red pepper glaze that strikes a perfect harmony between sweet and heat. The crunch on the chicken coating paired with the bold sauce made it stand out as a must-try dish for anyone who loves well-seasoned fried chicken with an Asian flair. To wash down these bold flavors, the Vermont Maple Lemonades from @Vermont Maple Lemonade provided a refreshing contrast. Both the Arnold Palmer and the blackberry-blueberry variations were lightly sweetened with maple syrup, offering a natural sweetness without being overpowering—perfect for cleansing the palate between bites. If you plan your visit, Smorgasburg Williamsburg’s Saturday market at 90 Kent Ave in Brooklyn is an ideal place to explore a wide range of international and inventive street foods. The outdoor setting combined with the vibrant vendor selections makes it a great spot to enjoy new flavors, local artistry, and the Brooklyn community vibe. I definitely recommend saving your appetite for this bustling food hall of wonders on your next NYC trip.
