26th bday (pt I)

My birthday was special and I can’t be thankful and grateful enough to the love of my life who planned it all out. I won’t make a huge speech or ramble like I usually do for special moments but knowing it Suicide Prevention Month, each birthday is a huge step for me knowing when I was younger I didn’t see myself even making it to 20. I’m thankful for the people that helped me get this far in life and continue to push me to be my best self, and challenge me to unlock corners of trauma I didn’t know was there to work on it. This is what taking your life into your own hands and running with it looks like, leaving everything you thought was safe and starting with nothing. Did I think it’d end up this beautiful? No, but you don’t know unless you risk losing even more to know what could be even more beautiful than you could dream of. #birthday #twentysix #celebration
