I found that this step helps prevent bacterial buildup and keeps the nails looking fresher. Pushing back the cuticles carefully also encourages healthy nail growth and reduces hangnails. Applying nail oil and allowing it to sit for at least 30 minutes is a critical step that deeply nourishes both nail and cuticle. I prefer oils containing vitamin E or jojoba oil for their hydrating benefits. Regular use of nail oil keeps the nails flexible and prevents brittleness. After oil treatment, washing hands thoroughly ensures removal of any residue before applying a nail hardener. Using products like Sally Hansen's Vitamin E Hard as Nails hardener strengthens the nails and helps protect them from everyday wear and tear.
