I wish I had a better update but Mia’s pain has gotten worse. The vet was here again today along with our farrier to again try and figure out the source of the pain. We are confident in the fact that there are still things we can do for her and options to try. I know she’s really captured everyone’s heart, ours too! All we want is for her to live her last years in peace and find comfort. A lot of you have pulled together for her, and we thank you! We wouldn’t be able to give her this level of care without all of your support. She still needs a lot of work. Please consider donating to her ongoing care as we figure it out for her and give her everything she needs ❤️ Donations can be made of PayPal (link in bio) 🙏🏼🐴

Since rescuing Mia from a slaughter truck, her journey has been a challenging yet heartwarming experience. Witnessing her pain worsens has been difficult, but it also reaffirms the importance of comprehensive care for rescue horses. Working closely with vets and farriers, we've explored multiple treatment options to ease her discomfort. Understanding the unique needs of draft horses, especially those coming from traumatic backgrounds, is crucial for effective rehabilitation. Providing ongoing care involves not just medical treatment but also creating an environment where Mia feels safe and loved. This means consistent monitoring, pain management, and adjusting her care plan based on her response. I've learned that community support is invaluable; donations directly impact her ability to receive specialized care and equipment. For anyone involved in horse rescue, especially for horses saved from slaughter, patience and perseverance are key. Every small improvement in Mia's condition is a victory worth celebrating. Sharing her story encourages awareness and compassion for animals in similar situations, reminding us that with collective effort, we can give these horses the peaceful and dignified life they deserve.
