One workaround I discovered is to see if the form allows typing in the date directly rather than scrolling. Some sites provide keyboard input options which are much faster. Also, some websites have a quick year selector to jump directly to a specific period, which is a real time saver. If these features are missing, browser extensions or autofill settings can sometimes memorize and automatically fill your DOB on trusted sites, significantly reducing the hassle. I also realized this design challenge reflects the evolving demographics of internet users and the balance between exposing the freshest data and accommodating all age groups. Sharing tips like using autofill or keyboard input can improve user experience for anyone who struggles with DOB entries. Surely, site designers could improve this by allowing easier access to older years or smart search functions in date selectors.
