It’s good but is it the best?
We tried most hyped Mango Sticky Rice place in Bangkok - we’re kinda obsessed with this yummy thai desert so when we saw the Wanjai Cafe House all over social media, we had to go there!
- The cafe really was very cute - for the aesthetics alone it’s worth going. Great little retro / vintage touches too.
- Everyone that works there seems really lovely too.
- The cafe is located in the trendy Song Wat neighbourhood of Bangkok, which is fantastic area to visit
- Overall we really enjoyed how fresh the mangoes were and how generous they are with the quantity of mango they give you. Sadly they don’t give you much coconut sauce at all (and honestly they need to give a lot more)

Having spent quite some time exploring Bangkok's dessert spots, I found Wanjai Cafe House to be a delightful experience. The strong vintage aesthetic creates a cozy atmosphere that just enhances the enjoyment of their mango sticky rice. One thing I really appreciated was how fresh and plentiful the mango slices were; it's a real treat for those who love that sweet tropical flavor. However, I did notice that the portion of coconut sauce was quite minimal. Based on my experience, a richer coconut sauce really elevates the sticky rice, giving it a creamier texture and balancing out the sweetness of the fruit. For future visits, I hope they consider increasing the sauce quantity to better complement the mango and sticky rice. The location in Song Wat is also fantastic—this trendy neighborhood has so many hidden gems, making it perfect for a day of exploring before settling in at Wanjai Cafe House. Plus, the staff were genuinely friendly and made our visit that much more welcoming. I also tried the mango smoothie, which was incredibly refreshing and blended perfectly with the meal. If you’re a mango fan, this combo is highly recommended. Overall, while I wouldn’t say this is the absolute best mango sticky rice in Bangkok, it certainly holds a special place for its atmosphere, quality ingredients, and service. It’s a great spot for travelers who want to experience local flavors in a charming setting. Definitely worth including in your Bangkok dessert itinerary!
