We rescued Poppie from a high-kill shelter (Palmdale Animal Care Center) in 2019.
My (at the time) 2.5 year old son and I had just been in a felony hit & run and we needed some joy. We feel in love with Poppie and another kitten, Mojavie. But it was the end of the day so we had to come back the next morning to adopt them. We were so stressed someone else was going to adopt them because there was an adoption event happening.
Why these names? We named them after the flowers and desert where we live.
