Just Finished and Next Read
Available on KU and Spoiler’s ahead It begins right where it left off , Mische is in the underworld and it is falling apart, and Asar is at the White Patheon. The Goddess Acaeja, offers him a choice to save Mische or claimed the House of Shadows. To save the women he loves he must receive the power from the God of Death. Ok so I have fix feelings about this book. A lot of information about the Gods, and their beef. There was a huge character development with both main characters knowing what they are born to be and healing from their past. I think with both of these two books, we are at the start of the war, and with the House of Night and now House of Death against Nyaxia, what house will be next. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2/5 🌶️🌶️/5
Having just finished 'The Fallen Kiss,' I found myself deeply immersed in the rich lore and intense character arcs Carissa Broadbent masterfully crafted. The novel picks up immediately where the previous book left off, plunging us into a world where the underworld is collapsing and divine politics are at their peak. What struck me most was the portrayal of the Goddess Acaeja’s choice: Asar must decide between saving Mische, the woman he loves, or claiming the powerful House of Shadows. This pivotal moment richly explores themes of sacrifice, power, and destiny. Asar's journey to gain power from the God of Death adds a thrilling dimension to the story—combining personal growth with epic fantasy elements. The book’s extensive focus on the gods' conflicts enhances the narrative but may feel dense at times. However, the character development truly shines, especially as both protagonists come to terms with their identities and confront their troubled pasts. It felt like watching two powerful forces evolve and heal simultaneously, setting the stage for an impending war. Fans of urban fantasy and mythology-driven plots will appreciate how the story intertwines the House of Night and the House of Death, preparing readers for the battles to come against Nyaxia. The suspense about which house will next rise adds a delightful layer of mystery. I also found the accompanying playlist on Spotify—curated by Heather—adds an immersive touch, perfect for setting the mood while reading. Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys suspenseful, character-rich fantasies with a complex pantheon of gods and houses. If you're looking for a fantasy read with strong world-building and emotional depth, 'The Fallen Kiss' offers a compelling mix that keeps you hooked until the very end.
