According to a report by The News website, a 21-year-old South Korean woman surnamed "Kim" was arrested on February 11 as suspected of being involved in the deaths of two men in the Gangbuk neighborhood, where on January 28 it was discovered that the woman had taken a deceased man, a man in his 20s, into a hotel and persuaded him to drink a mixed drink, and then the woman left the hotel two hours later, and then the male body was found the next day and on the day. In February 8, another man was found dead by the same method. In addition, the police linked the woman to an attempted murder case in Namyangju in December 2025, where the woman persuaded another man, who was a girlfriend of the woman at the time, to drink a drink mixed to unconsciousness.

In the aftermath of the arrest, the police examined the evidence to find that inside ChatGPT, the suspect had inquired about the effect of drinking alcohol mixed with sleeping pills, what the effect would be on people to drink, and how dangerous it would be, consistent with the death of both victims and the injury of one other victim. The police said that after the woman had already talked to ChatGPT about the issue, the drink was mixed with a high dose of Benzodiazepine sedative. The female perpetrator confirmed that she did not really know the amount. Infused would be fatal.

After the investigation, the police have announced the heavier charges, from originally to unintentional homicide to premeditated homicide. At the moment, the perpetrator has not yet confessed to any motive for the crime.
