my hair was 2B/2C, now it is more 3A/3B

My curl pattern completely changed once I started learning what my hair did and didn’t like - it took lots of experimenting, but I found my hair definitely prefers to be clarified regularly and use strong hold lightweight products 🧚🏼🤎 #embracing my curls #curlsandconfidence #curlygirl #curlyhair

... Read moreHey curl friends! You saw my before and after, right? My hair went from dark, less defined 2B/2C curls to these much lighter brown, more defined 3A/3B curls, and honestly, it feels like a miracle! I know many of you are on a similar journey, maybe you're stuck with 2B wavy hair frizz or wish you had more 3b curly hair defined curls. It's totally achievable, but it takes patience and understanding what your unique hair loves. For me, the biggest revelation was figuring out that my hair hated heavy styling products. Before, I'd pile them on thinking they'd define my waves, but they just weighed everything down, making my curls stringy and lifeless. The first step in my wavy to curly hair transformation was to ditch those heavy creams and switch to strong hold lightweight products. These are game-changers! Think mousses, light gels, or curl custards that give hold without the gunky feel. The key is to apply them to soaking wet hair, scrunching gently. Another huge factor for my 2B to 3A/3B curl transformation was clarifying regularly. Seriously, if your curls aren't clumping or feeling dull, product buildup is probably the culprit. I clarify once every 2-4 weeks, depending on how much product I've used. This process strips away all the gunk, allowing your natural curl pattern to shine through. It literally reset my hair and made it receptive to new products. It's also super important for scalp health – a clean scalp is a happy scalp, and happy scalp means healthier hair growth and better curl formation. When it comes to getting those beautiful, defined curls with curl cream before after, it's not just about the product, but the technique. After applying my lightweight styler, I make sure to scrunch upwards towards my scalp, encouraging those curl clumps. Then, I either air dry or diffuse on low heat, focusing on the roots first. This helps set the curl pattern and reduces frizz. Don't touch your hair while it's drying! That's a major frizz trigger. I also learned a lot about the difference between 3a vs 3b curls – 3A curls are larger, looser spirals, while 3B are tighter and springier. My hair definitely leaned into the 3B territory once I adopted this routine. If you're looking for curly hair clumping 3b specifically, focus on ample hydration before styling, thorough scrunching, and gentle drying. This isn't an overnight curly hair transformation before after story. It took months of dedicated effort, trying new products, and observing how my hair reacted. Don't get discouraged if your 2b 2c hair doesn’t immediately pop into perfect 3A/3B ringlets. Keep experimenting with clarifying, lightweight products, and gentle styling. Your curls are in there, just waiting for the right routine to blossom!
