Grenier Osaka 🇯🇵

Grenier Osaka 🇯🇵: A cosy patisserie tucked in an unassuming nook near Umeda station. Let’s take a peek inside shall we?

The name “Grenier” or attic in French perfectly captures the tranquil atmosphere. Each fluffy bite of flaky puff pastry held a surprise from custard to cream and lemon curd to crunchy crumbs. It was well worth the steep price.

... Read moreBeyond the inviting ambiance and delicious pastries, Grenier Osaka offers a variety of seasonal specialties that truly elevate the dessert experience. One standout is the Brûléed Meringue Lemon Curd Mille-Feuille, combining the crisp texture of layers with tart lemon curd and a caramelized top that adds a perfect balance of sweetness and crunch. I also enjoyed exploring their matcha-flavored options such as the Matcha Mille-Feuille with custard and chiffon layers, a wonderful choice for green tea enthusiasts. The menu offers a range of flavors, including strawberry mille-feuille with fresh sauce and custard, and even classic cannelle pastries for a simple, elegant bite. Located in the Hankyu Grand Building on the first floor, Grenier is very easy to find from Umeda Station – just follow the signs toward Hep Five. It’s open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, making it a perfect spot for a mid-afternoon treat or after shopping downtime. For those interested, there's another branch in Kitahama offering the same high-quality pastries, ideal for exploring different neighborhoods of Osaka while indulging in delicate French-inspired sweets. If you appreciate fine pastries with authentic French techniques blended with Japanese flavors, Grenier Osaka is definitely a patisserie to remember. I highly recommend trying their seasonal mille-feuille sets paired with a delicate tea selection to complete your cafe hopping journey in Osaka.

Japan Popz Restos: Were They Worth The QUEUE?
Japan’s great but the downside is the over-tourism and since we were travelling as a family of 10, it was really tough to pre book all our meals so we followed some recommendations that allows us to walk in. Of course we wanted to try highly raved restaurants and see if it’s really worth the hype!

Osaka must-try: 551 Horai!
You will see many of these red signs “551 Horai” with long queues in Osaka. Can’t miss and don’t miss at all! We tried their gyozas (nicely pan fried to a crispy golden exterior with juicy fillings inside). The steamed pork buns are huge! I got them at 2 for 450yen. #osakafood #foodreview
