swatching all my brush pens 🌈

2024/9/28 Edited to

... Read moreHi fellow stationery lovers! After sharing a peek into my brush pen collection, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why these colorful tools are absolute essentials for anyone wanting to add that special aesthetic touch to their journals, planners, or study notes. It’s not just about having pens; it’s about how they transform your pages! When we talk about 'aesthetic brush pens,' what truly makes them stand out? For me, it's often about the color palette. As you might have seen in my swatches, I gravitate towards beautiful pastel colors and muted colors. These shades aren't just pretty; they create a cohesive, calming, and visually pleasing look in any notebook. They allow for subtle highlighting, delicate lettering, and charming doodles without being overly distracting. Using a mix of these softer tones can really elevate your layouts, whether you're bullet journaling, creating mood boards, or just sprucing up your daily to-do lists. You might be curious about the different pen brands out there. I've been experimenting with several, and each offers something unique! Brands like Pentel and Kuretake are widely loved for their smooth flow and diverse color ranges, often being a go-to for many beginners and pros alike. I've also enjoyed pens from Writech and Kalor, which offer fantastic quality for their price points, making them great additions to any growing collection. Recently, I've also been impressed with Chotune. And speaking of variety, a brand like ZIG (which I've seen pop up in stationery hauls!) is also fantastic, known for its extensive range of brush pens, including those for calligraphy and illustration, which can expand your creative horizons beyond just journaling. Different brands often have varying brush tip flexibility – some are softer for sweeping strokes, while others are firmer for more controlled lines – so it's fun to try them out and see what feels best for your style. So, how can you truly maximize your aesthetic brush pens? Beyond just writing, they are perfect for: Creating Eye-Catching Headers: Use a larger brush tip for bold titles and then a finer tip for subtitles. Highlighting Key Information: Instead of stark yellow, use a soft pastel shade to gently emphasize important points in your study notes. Adding Whimsical Illustrations: From simple floral borders to cute icons, brush pens make it easy to add personal flair. Hand Lettering and Calligraphy: With practice, you can achieve beautiful script effects that instantly make any page look more artistic. Another small but mighty tip for keeping your aesthetic stationery game strong is organization. I find that having a clear organizer on my desk not only keeps my pens tidy but also showcases their beautiful colors, inspiring me every time I sit down to create. It’s a little detail, but seeing all those gorgeous shades lined up makes me want to use them even more! Ultimately, building an 'aesthetic brush pen' collection is a personal journey. You don't need every single pen out there (trust me, my 23 colors feel like plenty for my journaling!). Focus on curating colors that speak to you and brands that offer the quality and tip styles you enjoy. Experiment with different techniques, and most importantly, have fun making your pages beautiful and uniquely yours. Happy creating!
