things I hated about being a commute student

1️⃣ sacrificing sleep - we get less sleep than everyone else and have to spend our time wisely to “fill in” for the time we missed out on sleeping. in the long run, it drains the life out of me, and it will continue to drain the life out of me :,D on days where I have projects due, I expect getting 2 hours of sleep so I can be ready to catch the bus for a class that starts 2.5 hours later…

2️⃣ have to be extra early to secure a seat on the bus - at least that’s what I do so I don’t have to be standing for the whole 50 minutes of bus trip, maybe because I’m weak but I’m hoping to use the commute to study or make up for readings!

3️⃣ delayed buses at peak hours - it’s an ongoing problem for my local transit system. it used to be better a couple of years ago but apparently they’ve been cutting out bus services, which is frustrating. unlucky for me, my classes this term end during these hours, so if I want to avoid it, I’d either stay back an hour before heading home
