I’ve seen how often signs get ignored or minimized, and powerful figures enable harmful behavior by turning a blind eye. The emotional toll on survivors who must relive painful memories publicly, just to be taken seriously, is immense. Joining movements like #BelieveSurvivors and #BreakTheSilence is crucial. It creates a space where survivors feel supported rather than doubted, which is empowering and healing. When we stop dismissing survivors and start holding enablers accountable, we slowly change the culture of silence that protects abusers. Podcasts and forums, such as the #FromNowOnPodcast with Lisa Phillips, play a significant role in amplifying survivor voices and educating the public. These platforms foster community and encourage people to share their stories and take back their power. Personally, I’ve learned that believing survivors without requiring overwhelming proof not only affirms their truth but also helps us all move toward a more just and compassionate society. We all have a part to play in supporting accountability and making sure survivors’ experiences lead to meaningful change.
