Thai woman in crisis with terminal stomach cancer
By Khun Kan (fictional name), a Thai patient ✨
"From the days when I couldn't eat, I was in a wheelchair, and I lost hope, I never thought I'd have this day, the day I could walk myself, eat and laugh with my child again."
Hello, my name is Kan, a Thai patient who has faced a serious disease like terminal stomach cancer. I want to tell my story in order to encourage many others who are fighting the disease.
When the doctors in Thailand diagnosed terminal cancer, I was shocked and very demoralized. My condition was heavy at the time. I had abdominal water. Both kidneys began to malfunction so that I had to insert drains in both the kidneys and abdomen. The doctor said that I could not provide the standard medicine because I was too weak.
I couldn't eat, I lost weight so quickly, I had to be in a wheelchair because I couldn't walk, so I could live a life of exhaustion, no hope, and no longer know how to move on.
✨ a turning point at the Fuda Thailand ✨ Center.
During my desperation, I got to know the Fuda Thailand Service Center, and I decided to consult and get more information, and then I decided to go to Fuda Cancer Hospital in Guangzhou, China, with my family on an encouraging trip.
There I was planning a different treatment than I knew before:
1.Specific Chemotherapy (TAI - Transarterial Infusion Chemotherapy)
2. In combination with PD-1 immunotherapy.
The doctor explained that giving chemo at that point sends the drug directly through the arteries that feed the cancer clot, which causes the tumor to receive 10 times more drugs and 100 times more effective in destroying cancer cells compared to whole-body chemo, and also reduces side effects. I was relieved not to suffer from the same chemotherapy that caused the body to collapse as in the past.
After the first treatment: Hope begins to return
Shortly after the first treatment, I felt a clear change.
1. Eat better. ✨
2. Weight gain over 4 kilograms ✨
3. Start standing and walking by yourself without a wheelchair. ✨
After that, I went back to FUDA for the second round of treatment, and the symptoms continued to improve, and the main thing was, "Quality of life improves," and I was able to sit down and talk, eat with my family, and do small things that I thought I would never have the opportunity to do again.
Thank you to Foda Hospital for not letting me walk alone. ✨
"To return to normal life, even little by little, is of great value to patients like me."
✨ I would like to thank all the doctors and staff at Fuda Cancer Hospital for giving me the opportunity to come back to life.
I want to say to everyone who is desperate,
✨ if I get through it, you can, too.
Don't give up. ✨
With love and hope.
