Starting with 'Bookshops & Bonedust,' a charming prequel to 'Legends and Lattes,' it set the tone for an enjoyable reading month even if it didn't surpass its predecessor. Then, 'The Queen of Poisons' emerged as a cozy crime mystery, drawing parallels with 'Murder She Wrote,' providing a delightful blend of intrigue and humor. 'Half a Soul' stood out as perhaps my top pick of the year, skillfully blending fantasy and emotion in a tale that resonates deeply. Participating in a book club, I read 'What Lies in the Woods,' and it turned out to be an engaging choice that sparked lively discussion. On a different note, 'A Touch of Ruin,' while rated slightly lower, offered fascinating character dynamics, despite not being as impactful as its series debut. ' silenced Girls' added depth to my reading list by keeping me continually on edge. Meanwhile, 'The Perfect Divorce' presented predictability, yet its execution remained enjoyable. Lastly, 'The Kids Quotient' promises a continued engaging series, while 'Song of Achilles' provoked thoughts on love and worthiness—ideal themes for the romantic reader. Each of these titles holds its charm, ensuring a well-rounded May reading experience.
