Claiming moments of rest in 2026!
I didn’t grow up believing rest was a reward but somewhere along the way, culture, hustle, and expectations taught me otherwise.
Finish everything first.
Be productive.
Carry it all.
Then you can rest.
Motherhood especially has a way of glorifying exhaustion while quietly making rest feel selfish. But I’m learning and praying my way out of that mindset.
God never designed us to run on empty. Even Jesus rested. Even creation had a Sabbath. Rest isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s an act of trust. Trust that I don’t have to do it all in my own strength.
This season is teaching me that rest isn’t something you earn after you’re productive, it’s something you need so you can be present, patient, and whole.
I’m still unlearning the guilt.
Still choosing obedience over burnout.
Still reminding myself that slowing down is part of God’s rhythm, not a failure to keep up.
And I’m giving myself grace as I learn.
