Just a reminder from MJ!
Somewhere along the way, motherhood started feeling like carrying 47 tabs open in my brain at all times.
The schedules.
The snacks.
The mental load.
The pressure to “do it all” while still being present.
And then there are moments like this.
I don’t want my kids to only remember a mom who was tired, anxious, overstimulated, or constantly trying to survive the next thing.
I want them to remember laughter.
Softness.
Joy.
A mom who danced too.
So lately, I’ve been reminding myself:
everything does not have to be figured out today.
God has carried us this far already.
And maybe healing in motherhood looks like learning how to breathe again.

Motherhood often feels like juggling endless responsibilities, but I've learned that reminding yourself to breathe and find moments of joy can make all the difference. One thing that really helped me was realizing that my children don’t need a perfect mom—they need a present mom who can laugh, dance, and show softness despite the chaos. I used to feel overwhelmed by the never-ending to-do lists, schedules, and snacks, wondering how to keep up while maintaining my own peace. Then I came across a powerful reminder: "Your kids deserve a version of you that isn't always stressed." It struck a chord because it’s so easy to let stress define our days. To cope, I started setting small boundaries for myself—taking short pauses when things got too hectic, enjoying a moment of quiet, or dancing around the living room with my kids. These simple acts aren’t just self-care; they help create lasting memories filled with laughter and softness. Additionally, leaning into spirituality or whatever personal belief system you trust can bring comfort. The reassurance that "everything does not have to be figured out today" and that we’re being carried through the journey helps ease the mental load. For fellow moms feeling overstimulated or anxious, I encourage embracing the "soft life" approach—prioritizing emotional well-being over perfection. Let’s redefine motherhood away from stress and towards moments that nourish both us and our children. After all, healing sometimes begins with learning how to breathe again.
