Bangkok
4/7 Edited to

... Read moreHaving spent several trips in Bangkok, I can say that this 4-day itinerary wonderfully balances cultural exploration with modern city experiences. One personal tip is to start your mornings early when visiting popular spots like the Grand Palace and Wat Pho to avoid the crowds and Bangkok's midday heat. I also love taking the cross-river ferry to Wat Arun; the scenic views of the Chao Phraya River in the morning light are unforgettable. When visiting the Maeklong Railway Market and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market on Day 2, it's fantastic to hire a private car or join a small group tour to maximize efficiency and comfort, as public transport can be tricky for these spots. The colorful stalls and lively atmosphere create perfect photo opportunities, and don't miss trying freshly made coconut pancakes or mango sticky rice from local vendors. For shopping and food enthusiasts, the third day’s Siam Square and Chinatown are highlights. Besides popular malls like Siam Paragon, exploring the less touristy alleys in Chinatown offers authentic street food experiences. I especially recommend trying boat noodles and grilled satay from small street carts. Lastly, Lumphini Park on Day 4 is a peaceful retreat amid the city buzz. Keep an eye out for monitor lizards; seeing them swim in the lakes is surprisingly common and quite a unique sight. Nearby, Talat Noi's street art brightens the historical neighborhood and makes for great Instagram-worthy shots. Lastly, staying near Siam or Asok BTS stations, as mentioned, is a game changer for easy transit. I stayed at The Okura Prestige Bangkok and found it extremely convenient; plus, grabbing a Thai milk tea after a long day of walking felt like a perfect reward. Overall, this itinerary is thoughtfully planned to give you a rich and smooth Bangkok travel experience while keeping things enjoyable and efficient.
