ENA: Dream BBQ (Chapter 1)

ENA: Dream BBQ (chapter 1) was released March 26th, 2025 by ENA TEAM. This game follows ENA, a being who takes on jobs in search of “THE BOSS”. There is a tun of smoke in the air, causing Froggy to have a hard time breathing. So, we go on a very odd quest to turn off the smoke machine. There are two ways to get there, through doing smaller jobs for others, or by taking a taxi to a party. You try to find a gen- I mean, bathroom, in order to get to the smoke machine and turn it off.

The gameplay is very similar to LSD Dream Simulator, where you are walking around and finding different things that could happen. It is also very similar to Yume Nikki, where you are trying to find that items you need to progress the story. In one route, you talk to a ton of NPC’s and trying to find everything that all of the NPC’s could need. In the other, you find 3 heads attached to one being. (Just trust me, it makes sense) There is platforming, puzzles (super easy though), and a very trippy vibe (not a dis at all!)

The NPC’s are all so delightful! Each one of them had a very distinct personality and each one has a unique design. It is very easy to find who you need to talk to for each job. Each job only takes a few minutes to complete for the longest jobs, and each job has rewards that can be used for the main line quests as well.

Personally, I greatly enjoyed my time with chapter 1! I liked how it was easy to understand where to go and who to talk to. Each of the jobs were simple for me to understand. The inventory menu was stylized in a way that made sense to both ENA personalities, as well as a way to make sense for the player.

Personal score: 8/10 Would recommend!

... Read moreHey everyone! So, after my initial dive into ENA: Dream BBQ Chapter 1, a question that keeps popping up is about its suitability for different audiences. While there isn't an official age rating like you'd find for triple-A titles, I can definitely share my perspective based on playing it. From what I experienced, ENA: Dream BBQ Chapter 1 isn't violent or gory in the traditional sense, but it's incredibly abstract and can be quite unsettling at times. The visuals are unique, often described as 'trippy,' with shifting environments and characters that defy conventional logic. If you're sensitive to surreal or psychologically-tinged experiences, it might be something to consider. Think less jump scares and more a pervasive sense of delightful weirdness that might be too much for very young children. I'd personally suggest it's probably best suited for teens (13+) and up, mainly because of its complex themes and the abstract nature that younger kids might not fully grasp or might find a bit confusing rather than engaging. It really challenges your perception of what a game can be! For those wondering if 'Limon Chapter 1' is something similar, it's likely a playful way some folks might refer to ENA, given her distinctive yellow-ish appearance at times! Rest assured, we're talking about the same wonderfully bizarre world of ENA: Dream BBQ. This first chapter truly sets the stage for a unique narrative, where every interaction feels like a piece of a larger, mysterious puzzle. The game doesn't hold your hand, inviting you to explore and piece together its narrative at your own pace, which I found incredibly rewarding. What I particularly loved about this 'FIRST REVIEW' experience is how the game encourages exploration. Unlike many games where you're pushed along a linear path, ENA: Dream BBQ rewards curiosity. Talking to NPCs isn't just about progressing; it's about soaking in the atmosphere and understanding the bizarre world around you. Each character, with their distinct design and personality, feels like a piece of art themselves. The simple puzzles and platforming sections are more about adding variety to the exploration than posing a significant challenge, making the game accessible even if you're not a hardcore platformer fan. It's a narrative-driven experience wrapped in a unique visual style that genuinely stands out. If you're looking for something truly different and don't mind a game that makes you think, ENA: Dream BBQ Chapter 1 is definitely worth checking out. It’s an artistic journey, not just a game!
