What do I do if I lost my right AirPod?

I lost my right AirPod at my college near students doing bible study. I left 2:00 PM. The last known location according to Find My was today at 9:53 PM (2 hours ago) in a city 12 miles away. I find it odd that whoever took it did not take it to the lost and found which was close by. I’ll ask the Bible study people tomorrow, but for now, what should I do?

I also activated lost mode. This is the first time I lost an AirPod, Pray for me, please 🙏 😫
