DIY Window Mesh, Works 💯

We skipped the usual retractable window mesh to save $$ 🫢 and went for a magnetic DIY mesh from Shopee. Honestly… no regrets!

Installation was super easy. The seller provided all the tools + instructions, so it was a quick weekend project for me & the hubs. Ours took a bit more effort since our windows are split into panels, but still doable.

After 8 months of using it, I would say: WORTH IT 👍

✔️ No flies

✔️ No bugs

✔️ No mozzies

✔️ Still holding up well

Downside… It attracts dust quite easily. But a simple monthly wipe keeps it clean and in good condition ✨

... Read moreIf you're considering ways to keep your home bug-free without spending a fortune, I highly recommend trying out a magnetic DIY window mesh like this one from Shopee. From my experience, the biggest advantage is definitely the cost savings compared to traditional retractable meshes, which can run quite expensive and sometimes require professional installation. Setting it up was surprisingly straightforward. All the necessary tools and clear instructions were included, which made it a great weekend project. Even for windows with panels, which can be tricky, it was doable with a bit of patience. This hands-on approach not only saved money but gave a satisfying sense of accomplishment. After several months, the mesh still holds strong, and it effectively keeps out flies, bugs, and mosquitoes. If you live in a tropical or humid climate, this can be a game-changer for your comfort indoors. One minor downside I've noticed is that the mesh tends to attract dust, especially if you have open windows often. However, a quick wipe down once a month is enough to keep it clean and maintain its look. This low maintenance aspect works well for busy households. Overall, this DIY magnetic window mesh provides excellent value, combining ease of installation, effective pest protection, and affordability. It's a great option if you're planning a budget-friendly home renovation or looking for simple DIY improvements that deliver reliable results.

Honestly, this space has evolved a lot since move-in day. What started as a very basic, practical setup slowly became something that feels more “us” — functional, a lil more cluttered 😂 but still cozy and aesthetic 🤍 🍳 Kitchen regret – not adding more sockets / electrical points, we realised we
