I said it before and I'll say it again when it comes to running the shoe matters! Sprinting season is upon and the warmer weather is slowly rolling in so the runs will pick up and times will drop down. I decided to stop by my local @Pacers Running to test what's going to carry the work for me in this coming season and I decided to try on three shoes:

Yall know I love my @Nike Vaporfly 4s. They're Lightweight, responsive, and built to move when you're ready to push pace. They're for chasing PRs or wanting that extra pop on race day and translate over well when I sprint.

My first time trying on the @adidas Adizero Evo SL and my first impression on the treadmill was the smooth turnover. They felt like a strong training partner for tempo days and a good fit for building speed with control.

The @New Balance Fuelcell supercomp elite v5

I was highly impressed with the hese shoes are Cushioned but powerful. The toe box was fitting but roomy at the same time. They really gave me a balance of comfort plus propulsion that works whether you're racing long or dialing in efficiency.

The goal is always move with purpose.

Which one are you lacing up this season?

... Read moreChoosing the right running shoes can feel like a quest, especially when you're eyeing top contenders like Nike and Adidas for performance. After my recent "Try On Running Shoes" session, where I put several popular models through their paces, I realized how crucial it is to understand the nuances of each brand's approach to speed and comfort. Many of you might be wondering, "Which Ones Do You Think I Chose?" or, more broadly, how do these titans of the running world stack up? Let me share my deeper thoughts, going beyond just first impressions, to help you make an informed decision for your own runs. My experience with the Nike Vaporfly 4s has always been about pure, unadulterated speed. These are the shoes I reach for when a new personal record is on the line, or when I need that extra 'pop' on race day. What truly sets them apart, in my opinion, is the combination of their ZoomX foam and the full-length carbon fiber plate. This pairing creates an incredibly responsive and propulsive ride, almost like you're being sprung forward with each stride. They feel incredibly lightweight, which is fantastic for maintaining high speeds, but I've found that this lightness sometimes comes at the cost of extreme durability for everyday, high-mileage training. For sprinting and short, fast efforts, however, they're simply exceptional. Then there's the Adidas Adizero Evo SL, which I tried for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. While Nike leans into explosive propulsion, the Evo SL felt more like a refined instrument for controlled speed. The smooth turnover I experienced on the treadmill points to its design, which focuses on efficient transitions. Powered by Lightstrike Pro foam, it offers a firm yet cushioned feel, making it an excellent partner for tempo runs or speed work where you're building pace deliberately. I'd recommend these for runners who want to improve their speed with a shoe that offers a great balance of responsiveness and ground feel, rather than just raw bounce. They feel robust enough for more regular use compared to some of the super-light race-day specific shoes. And let's not forget the New Balance Fuelcell Supercomp Elite v5. This model truly impressed me with its blend of cushioning and power. Often, you have to compromise one for the other, but the Fuelcell Supercomp Elite v5 struck a unique balance. The toe box felt just right – snug but with enough room to let my toes splay naturally, which is vital for comfort on longer efforts. With its FuelCell foam and Energy Arc carbon fiber plate, it delivers a powerful ride without sacrificing that much-needed comfort. For runners tackling longer races or those who prioritize efficiency without feeling like they're running on bricks, this New Balance option is a serious contender. It's versatile enough to handle various distances while still providing that propulsive edge. So, if you're stuck between a Nike and an Adidas (or even a New Balance!), consider your primary goal. Are you chasing PRs and need pure, unbridled speed for race day? The Nike Vaporfly might be your hero. Do you need a reliable training partner for tempo runs and building speed with control? The Adidas Adizero Evo SL could be your go-to. Or perhaps you're looking for that sweet spot of cushioning and propulsion for longer, efficient runs? The New Balance Fuelcell Supercomp Elite v5 stands out. Ultimately, the best advice I can give is to "Try On Running Shoes With Me" – or rather, try them on yourself! What feels phenomenal on one runner might not be the perfect fit for another. Trust your feet, and you'll find the shoe that helps you move with purpose this season.
