Save for your Next trip to Chicago 📍🫶🏽

Day 1

Millennium Park

Visit the iconic Cloud Gate home of “The Bean” and explore Crown Fountain and Lurie Garden. Highly recommend dressing warmly as it can be windy near the lake

The Art Institute of Chicago

One of the best museums I’ve been to, featuring works from Monet, Van Gogh and more. Bring comfy shoes it’s a biggg museum. The tiny rooms are my favorite!

Riverwalk

Stroll along the river, enjoy public art displays, and take in the beautiful city skyline. Late afternoon are my favorite times to go when the sun starts to set!

Day2

Skydeck Chicago

Experience breathtaking views from 1,353 feet above the city on the glass floored “ledge” it can be intimidating to go but it’s worth it at the end!

Chicago Architecture Center

Learn about Chicago’s renowned architecture and take a boat tour, makes for amazing pictures from the river!

Magnificent Mile

Walk through the iconic stretch of shopping but you can also admire the historic buildings and festive decorations if visiting during the winter

Day3

Lincoln Park

The Lincoln park zoo is free to enter and you can enjoy such beautiful views from the nature boardwalk and all the animals are a plus ofc!

Shedd Aquarium

I absolutely love coming here and seeing all the animals! They have such a big variety of different fish and ofc they have dolphins, penguins, and so much more. Highly recommend!

Water Tower Place

Don’t let the name fool you it’s actually such a grand shopping center it has 8 stories if I’m not mistaken (it’s been a little bit since I’ve been here) of so many stores! I need to go back especially now with the holidays

Things to keep in mind:

Transportation

Most of these places are within walking distances but on some occasions where it’s too far to walk, there are public transportation or I’d also recommend ride share options!

Weather:

Chicago’s weather can be unpredictable so in colder months make sure to bring a coat, gloves, hat, waterproof shoes and maybe even hand warmers! Layers are a must to stay comfy outdoors

... Read moreSo, you've got your 3-day Chicago itinerary planned, but every great trip needs those extra touches to make it unforgettable! Beyond the iconic landmarks, let me share some personal insights to help you make the most of your Windy City adventure. First off, where to rest your head after all that exploring? There are fantastic options like the Park Hyatt Chicago, The Langham, and The Gwen. These are all top-notch choices offering luxury and great locations. If you're looking for something a bit different, consider staying in neighborhoods like River North for vibrant nightlife and dining, or Streeterville for easy access to the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan. My personal tip: always check proximity to CTA (public transport) lines for convenience – it makes getting to all those "fun places in Chicago" so much easier! No trip to Chicago is complete without diving into its incredible food scene. You absolutely have to try a classic deep-dish pizza – Lou Malnati's or Giordano's are legendary, and I always make a stop at one of them. But don't stop there! Grab a Chicago-style hot dog (no ketchup allowed, trust me!) from a local stand like Portillo's. The city also boasts incredible fine dining experiences and cozy cafes perfect for a morning coffee. I love exploring new spots around Wicker Park or Fulton Market for unique culinary delights – it's definitely one of the "chicago must do things" for foodies. For those looking to capture that "Chicago aesthetic" for their social media or just beautiful memories (hello, "chicago images" and "pinterest" searches!), the city is a goldmine. While Cloud Gate and the Riverwalk offer amazing shots, try heading to the Adler Planetarium for a breathtaking skyline view, especially at sunset. The 'L' train tracks curving through the city also make for a super cool urban shot. And don't forget the vibrant murals in different neighborhoods like Pilsen or West Loop! Thinking about evening activities? Beyond the stunning city lights from Skydeck, Chicago has a legendary jazz and blues scene – check out a live show at Andy's Jazz Club or Kingston Mines. Catch a Broadway in Chicago show, or simply enjoy a drink at one of the many rooftop bars offering panoramic views. There's always something happening, no matter what "time now in Chicago" it is! Lastly, a quick note on getting around. While walking is great for sightseeing, Chicago's CTA system (trains and buses) is super efficient. Grab a Ventra card, and you're good to go. For days you're covering more ground, ride-shares are readily available. Planning your routes ahead of time truly saves time and energy, letting you squeeze in even more "fun places to go" and "must do things" on your "chicago itinerary 2 days" or three! I hope these extra tips help you curate an even more memorable Chicago experience!

I'm currently staying at the Gwen, it's nice but more of a business hotel- I would give it a 6/10. We stayed at the London House last time and I would stay there again in a heartbeat 9/10!!🙌🏽
