There comes a point when you stop chasing, settling, over-explaining, and apologizing for protecting your peace.
These are the rules I live by now:
✨ I don’t chase what God did not assign to me.
✨ I don’t settle just because I’m afraid to start over.
✨ I don’t explain boundaries that protect my well-being.
✨ I don’t keep looking back at what tried to break me.
✨ I protect my peace and limit access to my energy.
✨ I move with purpose instead of performing for attention.
✨ I trust God’s timing, even when I cannot see the entire plan.
Choosing yourself is not selfish. Developing standards does not make you difficult. Healing teaches you that peace, consistency, honesty, and mutual effort are not too much to ask for.
This season is about becoming the woman you prayed to be, not returning to the version of you who accepted less just to avoid being alone.
Save this for the days when you need a reminder. 💕

... Read moreChoosing yourself is a powerful journey that many of us hesitate to take, often because of fear or societal expectations. From personal experience, embracing these seven rules has truly transformed how I approach life and relationships.
One of the most important lessons is learning not to chase what isn’t meant for you. It took me a while to realize that energy wasted in pursuing things or people not aligned with my purpose could be better spent on self-growth and healing. This shift brought a remarkable sense of freedom and reduced unnecessary stress.
Setting firm boundaries without feeling guilty is another rule that changed my life. It’s tempting to over-explain or justify why we say no, but I found that true peace comes when you honor your limits unapologetically. This helps conserve emotional energy and protects mental health, allowing me to thrive.
Looking back at past struggles or setbacks can be tempting, but focusing on the present and trusting God’s timing has been crucial. Healing isn’t linear, and sometimes we don’t see the bigger picture immediately. Patience and faith kept me grounded during uncertain times.
I also learned to move with intention rather than seeking external validation. This mindset shift helps me stay focused on goals that truly matter rather than performing for attention or approval.
Lastly, protecting my peace by limiting who and what I allow into my energy space created a sanctuary within myself. This practice isn’t about isolation but about nurturing an environment conducive to growth and joy.
These principles echo the messages shared in "A Lady’s Playbook: A Game Plan for Love & Self-Worth," which inspired much of my personal transformation. Remember, choosing yourself is not selfish; it is essential for living a fulfilled, authentic life. Whenever you feel doubt, remind yourself: this journey is about becoming the best version of you, a version you’ve prayed for.
If you’re on a similar path, try adopting these rules gradually. Reflect on your experiences and adjust them to what fits your growth best. Over time, you’ll notice how prioritizing your peace and purpose reshapes your whole outlook and opens doors to new, positive chapters.
