my unpopular opinion on location sharing

you don’t need to have your partners location …

Yes it can be helpful and is good for safety but if you’re worried about trust, it’s not the best way to build it in every situation.

My partner and I decided we wanted to build trust with each other by not sharing our location. Were things perfect?

No 🤣 but I’m honestly glad we didn’t because it can cause so much anxiety having their location!

I also value my privacy and independence. I want my partner to trust me without having to know exactly where I am 24/7!

This could be my beige flag but oh well 😂

What’s your opinion on this??

... Read moreIn today’s digital age, sharing your location with a partner has become increasingly common, but it raises complex questions about trust and privacy. While some couples find comfort in constant visibility, others, like myself, experience stress and anxiety from knowing their partner’s whereabouts 24/7. It's essential to establish boundaries and communicate openly about each other's needs. Building trust shouldn't rely solely on technology; it should come from understanding and respecting each other’s independence. Many people find that having access to their partner's location can lead to unnecessary worries. For instance, if one partner is not responding, the other might automatically assume the worst, leading to conflicts. Similarly, checking a partner’s location can fuel insecurity, creating a cycle of doubt that undermines the very trust that location sharing aims to strengthen. Moreover, occasional sharing for specific events, like concerts or travel, can be a practical compromise without the everyday pressure. In summary, while sharing locations can have its advantages for safety, it’s crucial to consider how it affects trust and autonomy in relationships. Finding a balance that works for both individuals is key to fostering a healthy partnership. The debate on location sharing continues, and each relationship is unique—what works for one might not work for another. Share your experiences and thoughts on this topic!

I give my boyfriend my location because I am a busy person living in a “city”, and a lot of people drive reckless, we made a rule that we should text each other when we leave our houses. I explained to him I don’t wed his location, I have his on snap, which he’s never on.

Me and my fiancé have our locations on 24/7. We do it for safety reasons especially since he drives a lot for work.
