Which PCOS myth did you believe for the longest?
I didn’t even know what PCOS was a year ago before getting diagnosed 😂
So I’ve had a lot of catching up to do!! When I was first diagnosed with PCOS, I thought I had to have every symptom to even count — irregular periods, breakouts, weight issues, insulin problems, etc.
Turns out, that’s a myth. PCOS is actually diagnosed by at least 2 of 4 pillars:
- irregular periods
- high androgens (cystic jawline acne, hair growth, unwanted hair loss)
- polycystic ovaries on ultrasound
- insulin resistance/metabolic issues
Doctors don’t tell you that!! It’s so important to find a doctor that is knowledgeable about PCOS and willing to actually diagnose you.
I’m so grateful I’ve been able to get diagnosed and start reducing my symptoms of PCOS 🫶🏻

That I wouldn’t ever be able to get pregnant. Just found out two months ago that I am completely fine in that department after 20 plus years of being told otherwise. 🙄
