Being social while antisocial.

Here’s a cute little vlog from the candle-making workshop in my building. Honestly, sometimes the hardest part is just leaving the house, so I love when I can do something fun without actually going anywhere. This is our second time doing this workshop, and it was just as great as the first.

It’s run by a local woman-owned business—so if you’re in the Bronx, definitely support her. She hosts workshops and sells her own candles, which is a win-win in my book.

Crafty things like this are such a good way to deal with droopy mental health. This one pushed me to be around people again, and honestly? Human interaction can be healing. Focusing on a creative activity is the perfect balance between socializing and not socializing at the same time.

Overall, I had a lot of fun, I made a new candle, and I even crawled out of the Batcave for a few hours. Website at the end if you want to check her out. 🕯️💛

... Read moreAttending a candle-making workshop like the one offered by Regal Candle Bar can be an excellent way for people who consider themselves introverted or antisocial to engage in social activities without feeling overwhelmed. These workshops are crafted to provide a calm, welcoming environment that focuses on creativity, allowing participants to focus on making their own handcrafted luxury candles while enjoying casual, gentle human interaction. The Regal Candle Bar brings a unique experience by incorporating aromatic and visually inspiring elements that help stimulate all senses in a relaxing way. Their fall-themed candle-making sessions not only encourage artistic expression but also serve as thoughtful handmade gifts, making the evening both meaningful and productive. Activities include a Safety 101 briefing, candle pouring sessions, crafting personalized labels and gift boxes, which structure the workshop to be engaging but not overly demanding socially. Moreover, supporting a local woman-owned business in the Bronx adds an empowering layer to the experience, helping to boost the local economy and community spirit. For many, these workshops offer more than just crafting; they symbolize stepping out of isolation, engaging with others in a comfortable setting, and improving mental health through creative expression and gentle socialization. For individuals struggling with mental health, the combination of focused craftwork and low-key social contact can be healing. It offers a perfect balance—being social while maintaining comfortable boundaries, making it easier to overcome the barrier of ‘just leaving the house.’ This class not only nurtures creativity but also helps to foster a sense of belonging and rejuvenation. If you live in or near the Bronx, visiting www.regalcandlebar.com to learn about upcoming workshops could be a self-care step worth taking. These events combine community, creativity, and wellness in a way that might just be what you need to reconnect without the pressure of typical social settings.
