How I made my new room into My Safe Space 💗
How I made my room in treatment into
My Safe Space 🫶🏾💗
Decorate the walls!
Decorating has been the biggest help in making me feel comfortable in my room. Most of the decorations I bought while I was here, but don’t fret if you don’t have any posters!
Anything can be decorated! For example, I find cute clothing hooks in Temu and hang my favorite shirts on the walls!
If you’re in a dorm use blue tape or thumbtacks to hang up your decor.
Make a list of decorations you want! I have mine on my notes app for easy access.
Draw something! I used to have tons of drawings and paintings on the wall in detox.
Print out photos of family and friends!
Being away from your family and friends can be extremely hard for some. I keep my pictures of my family hanging right next to my bed so when I struggle I can remember why I chose to go into recovery. ❤️🩹
It’s also a great conversation starter for roommates or housemates. Seeing these pictures has sparked a lot of conversations for me!
Bring important objects from home!
Whether the object is as small as a rock or as big as my PS4, you should consider bringing it into your new space!
Some of the smaller things I brought were necklaces and rings from my dad and friends and crystals
A couple of the plushies I’ve bought are also from home and have a deep meaning for me. It brings a lot of comfort into a new space.
Question of the day!! - What is an object you cannot live without?

I love how personal this is. Definitely going to try hanging some random stuff from home to make my space feel more me.
