materials needed:
❄️snow water
🌱herbs; I used mugwort, skullcap, poppy seed, chamomile
🕯️a blue or white candle
🥣a fire safe dish
🪟if possible, locate yourself near a window where moonlight can shine through
start by creating your herb mixture, place the herbs in the dish and mix them together
then, clear a space in the center of the dish by pushing the herbs out if the way. melt the bottom of your spell candle either using an already lit candle or a match/lighter so that it has wet wax and can be stuck down to hold itself upright in the dish
light the candle and then add snow water to the dish
while the candle burns take the time to journal, meditate or reflect on the year that is preparing to close. you could journal about the past year with a focus on reflecting on what practices went well and how you can continue them into the new year or you can reflect on items that need release for the upcoming year.
Once you are satisfied with your reflection you may remove the candle from the dish and allow it to melt with the wax dripping directly into the water
when you are all finished, you can either interpret the shapes the wax form made as it cooled in the wax or leave it be
