Where my trainers at??? #iykyk
When I first started my fitness journey, I was overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice and myths floating around. It's like a horror movie of misinformation! For example, many of us fear that lifting weights will make us bulky. But based on my experience, muscle growth depends on your training style and nutrition—not just lifting weights. You can get stronger and leaner without becoming bulky unless you specifically train for hypertrophy. Another common myth I encountered was that a calorie deficit doesn't work. I found that consistency and tracking are key—not just blindly cutting calories. Sometimes, it’s about adjusting your deficit properly and avoiding metabolic slowdown by not restricting too much. The idea that weighing food is an eating disorder scared me off initially, but I learned that it can be a helpful tool when done mindfully—helping you understand portions and nutrition rather than fueling obsession. I also thought cutting out all carbs was necessary, but I realized carbs are a vital energy source, especially on training days. It’s about balance, not elimination. Lastly, I saw people obsessively adding cottage cheese to everything thinking it’s a magic food. While it’s a great protein source, variety and whole foods matter most. Facing these myths head-on helped me develop a healthier, sustainable fitness routine. It’s like conquering your top 5 horror movies in fitness, turning fear into confidence. If you’re struggling with similar doubts, remember it’s about finding what works for your body and goals—not getting trapped by myths.
