High Lord Wolnir taken out!! #darksouls3 #clips #fyp
Wow, finally took down High Lord Wolnir! What a battle! I know a lot of you out there might be struggling with this guy, so I wanted to share my full breakdown of how I managed to defeat him in Dark Souls 3 and get that sweet Soul of High Lord Wolnir. It's actually a lot simpler than it looks once you know the trick! The Golden Rule: Focus on the Bracelets! The absolute key to this fight against High Lord Wolnir is his glowing golden bracelets. Forget trying to hit his head, chest, or anything else initially; your priority should be smashing those cuffs. Each one you break deals massive damage to him and briefly stuns him, giving you precious openings to reposition or heal. There are three bracelets in total, two on one arm and one on the other. I always found it easiest to start by rushing to the right-hand bracelet first (from where you enter the arena), as it often gives you a clearer shot. Avoiding Wolnir's Attacks: While you're busy smashing bracelets, Wolnir isn't just going to sit there. He has a few main attacks you need to watch out for: Smoky Breath: He'll often breathe a dark, smoky cloud directly in front of him. This is usually pretty easy to avoid by simply moving to his side or retreating a bit. Don't get caught in it, as it builds up status effects quickly. Skeletons Galore: Wolnir will frequently summon an army of skeletons. These guys can be annoying distractions, but whatever you do, don't get sidetracked and try to clear them all. Your main focus remains the bracelets. A few quick swings can clear them if they get too close, but prioritize the boss damage. Giant Sword Swings: Sometimes, he'll pull out a massive sword. This attack is deadly, but it's slow and very telegraphed. The best way I found to avoid it was to roll towards him as he swings. This often gets you under his arm and closer to the next bracelet, giving you a safe spot for a moment. Dark Magic Cloud: As you break more bracelets, Wolnir gets more aggressive and starts using more dark magic. He'll summon a large, expanding dark cloud that deals continuous damage. If you see this forming, sprint away as fast as you can or roll through it to escape the area of effect. Staying close to his hands, and sometimes even a bit under his body, seemed to be the safest spots for me to avoid this. My Personal Strategy & Tips: Be Aggressive, But Smart: Rush the bracelets, but don't be greedy. Get a few hits in, then be ready to dodge or reposition. His attacks are powerful, and you don't want to get one-shotted. Stamina Management: Breaking the bracelets takes a lot of hits. Make sure you're managing your stamina well so you can still roll away when an attack comes. Healing: There are usually good windows to heal right after he gets stunned from a broken bracelet, or if you manage to avoid one of his slower attacks. Stay Mobile: The arena is quite large, but Wolnir himself doesn't move. You need to be constantly moving around him to get to the bracelets and avoid his attacks. Don't stand still for too long! Once all three glowing bracelets are shattered, High Lord Wolnir will crumble, and you'll have earned that well-deserved 'Soul of High Lord Wolnir' and a huge sense of accomplishment. It felt so good to finally conquer him! What were your strategies? Any secret tips I missed for this boss fight?
