i just LOVE odd books. the weirder the better! and these three fit the bill for sure. i strongly recommend all of akwaeke emezi’s books, but freshwater has a special hold on me. the last tale of the flower bride (by roshani chokshi) totally enchanted me. it’s got some of my favorite passages

little rot by akwaeke emezi is my most recent five star read, but it’s also a read that doesn’t shy away from dark and disturbing topics. in fact, the point of the book is pretty much the opposite: to bear witness to the poison in the world and in all of us. it’s got fascinating morally gray
