🤍 My Story: I am a step mom whose been struggling with depression, weight gain, anxiety, self doubt, health issues, I am in the military and I fell in love with a man who I shouldn’t have. I was out casted and treated like the scum of earth. Been berated and treated as a door mat.
🤍 How I Felt: I found God and everything changed. I felt a relief I have someone there I can always talk to. I no longer feel as though I care about those who once put me in such a negative state.
🤍 My Takeaways: I am happy. I pray/talk to God and he always listens. I will never stop speaking of his love, forgiveness and grace. God is good all the time
In times of vulnerability, finding support and strength through faith can be lifesaving. Many individuals, like myself, have encountered emotional upheaval, especially in roles as a stepmom or during difficult life transitions. It's vital to acknowledge these feelings and seek solace in spiritual beliefs. The Bible offers numerous verses that remind us of our worth and connection to God. For instance, John 1:12 highlights how believing in God grants us the right to become children of God. This profound truth can reshape negative self-perceptions and help dismantle false narratives we've internalized over the years. Prayer is a powerful tool in this healing journey. It provides a space to express our deepest fears and hopes, reassuring us that we are indeed seen and accepted as we are. The act of surrendering our troubles and replacing them with divine truth can cultivate a sense of peace and belonging that is often elusive. Engaging with supportive communities, either online or offline, can enhance this journey. Sharing experiences, like my own struggles with weight gain and mental health, fosters connections with others who resonate with these challenges. Through this sharing, we can uplift each other and remind one another of the love, forgiveness, and grace that God extends to us, no matter our circumstances. Remember, every setback can be a stepping stone towards a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationship with God.
