Domestic Abuse Survivor 💜

Surviving domestic abuse is a difficult and deeply personal journey that often involves a complex mix of emotions such as fear, anger, and self-doubt. From my experience and from hearing many survivors’ stories, one of the hardest parts is learning to trust again—not just others, but yourself. The constant second-guessing after abuse can make decisions feel overwhelming, and bitterness or unforgiveness might linger in the heart. What helped me the most was surrendering my pain and life to a higher power, which provided a sense of peace and purpose beyond the trauma. This step may not be the same for everyone, but finding a form of spiritual or emotional support can be a powerful source of healing. Support groups, counseling, and trusted friends can also play critical roles in restoring one’s confidence and emotional well-being. It’s essential to understand that healing is not linear. There will be setbacks, but each forward step—no matter how small—is a victory over the past. Journaling, affirmations, and celebrating personal growth milestones helped me see the distance I had traveled from my darkest days.
