What to Do Exactly 1 Hour Before Bed for Better 💤🛌

You’ve heard of the 3-2-1 rule—but what about the “Final Hour Fix”?

Here’s my personal wind-down plan that actually helps me fall asleep:

• 55 min before – hot shower or magnesium foot soak

• 45 min before – change into comfy PJs + prep tomorrow’s outfit

• 30 min before – sip a cup of sleepy tea (chamomile + lemon balm)

• 20 min before – journal or read (no screens)

• 5 min before – deep breathing or box breathing (4-4-4-4)

This little bedtime blueprint changed my sleep game.

... Read moreEstablishing a calming bedtime routine can significantly improve sleep quality and overall well-being. Each step of the routine contributes to creating an ideal sleep environment that promotes relaxation. For instance, a hot shower or magnesium foot soak can help relax muscles and prepare the body for sleep. Switching into comfortable PJs signals to your body that it’s time to unwind. Sipping on a cup of chamomile and lemon balm tea not only hydrates but also provides a calming effect that alleviates anxiety and promotes drowsiness. Engaging in screen-free activities like journaling or reading allows your mind to disconnect from the day's stresses, while deep breathing exercises, like the 4-4-4-4 box breathing method, can effectively soothe your nervous system. Such mindful practices not only enhance the quality of your rest but also establish a sustainable habit for improved sleep hygiene. Implement these strategies within your final hour to set the stage for a peaceful night, as sleep is crucial for maintaining both physical and mental health. Improve your sleep today with these simple yet effective methods!
