... Read moreFrom my personal experience, I've realized that relying only on standard health markers can paint an incomplete picture of my wellbeing. Tests like HbA1c or cholesterol readings are helpful, but they represent just a single moment or an average over time – which can hide significant ups and downs that actually affect long-term health. For example, I tracked my blood sugar through continuous glucose monitoring and noticed that even when my HbA1c was within the normal range, there were frequent spikes after certain meals or stressful days. These fluctuations weren’t visible in routine lab tests but had a real impact on how I felt and my energy levels. Moreover, the concept of ‘normal ranges’ felt misleading. Being within a clinical range doesn't always mean you are at your healthiest—it's often more about not meeting disease thresholds yet. I learned to pay attention to my lifestyle factors like sleep quality, stress, and diet alongside my test results to get a more holistic view. This approach helped me make better decisions such as adjusting my diet to avoid extreme glucose swings and focusing more on stress management. It’s clear that health markers are tools, but understanding the story behind the numbers and considering daily habits provides far more meaningful insights for proactive, preventive health care.
