🤝 "Collaboration that the organization misunderstood."
🤝 "Collaboration that organizations misunderstand" when cooperation becomes a speed counterweight?
Why does "Thai cooperation" not reach the finish line in the modern competitive world?
The word collaboration became a common term for boardrooms; virtually every organization executive speaks of it as the magic potion of modern corporate culture; "employees have to work together, open up, brainstorm, and help each other for the same goal."
But looking deeper into real life, especially in the context of Thai society, we will find that
* Collaborations that lack good design often do not lead to speed or quality if they repeatedly create "considerations," "delays," and burdens that fall on the same people.
* Cooperation is therefore not the only matter of good intentions if it is a matter of structure, power, and motivation, and if misunderstood, it may unconsciously become a counterweight to organizational performance.

📉 1. "Collaborative Overload" when brilliance becomes a penalty.
* A common picture in Thai organizations is that people who work well, understand all-round work, and are good-natured, are often involved in all things. "Every band meeting, every project consultant, and always the one who solves the last problem."
* Managerial, this is called Collaborative Overload, where a small minority of good people (often no more than 5% of the organization) have to carry up to 20-30% of the work, while others work comfortably in the shade of "help each other."
* As a result, deep work is not born, and the organization quietly loses the highest-valued people.

🇹🇭 2. The "presumptuous" trap when harmony kills contrast.
* Thai society places a high value on Harmony, which is an advantage in the relationship dimension, but when it is applied to tasks that require acute decision-making, considerability becomes an obstacle.
* So we saw a meeting where everyone nodded, but no one dared; sharp ideas were polished to blunt so that "no one lost face," and the work that should move back stopped waiting for the consensus of all parties.
* Collaboration driven by presumptuousness rather than results will cause the organization to move slowly in a world where speed is the strategic advantage.

🇨🇳 3. The lesson from China is "race first and then join."
* Looking at Chinese tech companies like Alibaba, Tencent, or ByteDance, we find a different form of cooperation. They don't start by telling everyone to cooperate, but by "competing."
* A model called Co-opetition or Competition + Cooperation is used through a mechanism like Horse Racing Mechanism. When there is a new problem, the organization will set up several teams to compete to develop solutions. The teams that do faster and better will win and move on.
* Internal competition eliminates presumptuousness, stimulates energy, and accelerates innovation, and then shares the best results with other teams. This is a collaboration that comes after proofing, not before taking action.

🛡️ 4. Cooperation will not happen if people feel insecure.
* Whether it is a Thai or Chinese model, the Collaboration will fail immediately if the team feels that cooperation is a risk of "losing face, losing credit, or taking the risk of being wronged."
* This is frankly linked to the Psychological Safety concept. If the team feels that opening their mouth, speaking or sharing ideas will make themselves look bad, the Collaboration will be replaced by self-defense and silo-building.
* The leader's job is not just to cooperate, but to create an environment that ensures that cooperation makes everyone better, not losers.

🧬 5.True collaboration starts with system design.
* Organizations in which collaboration occurs spontaneously without force are often not organizations that are particularly lovers, but organizations that design systems for people to "need to talk to."
* For example, Toyota or the Open Source community like Linux do not rely on commands, but on systems where data is transparent, short processes and workers can make decisions together without waiting for multiple layers of approval.
* Leaders should therefore act as architects who design the structure to flow, smash silo walls, and build bridges, rather than as Commander who calls people to cooperate in elegant words.

✨ Redefinition of Collaboration = "Sharp Cooperation"
To conclude, collaboration for this working world may not be a constant handshake, but a knowing when to participate, when to split, and when to compete.
Good cooperation is not the image of all people, it is that everyone dares to argue, compete and support each other on the basis of a single goal, "corporate victory."
Because in today's business world, harmony without contrast does not take anyone to the finish line.
