finding Your Purpose

2025/3/13 Edited to

... Read moreWow, Esther 4:14 has been on my heart so much lately! You know, that powerful verse from the King James Version that starts with 'For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time...' Every time I read it, it just hits different, especially when I think about 'finding your purpose.' When I first delved into the Book of Esther, I was struck by the incredible bravery of Queen Esther. Here was a young woman, placed in a position of immense power, yet facing an unimaginable challenge: her people, the Jews, were doomed to destruction. Her cousin Mordecai sends her this urgent message, basically saying, 'You're in this unique position, Esther. If you stay silent now, deliverance will come from somewhere else, but you and your family might perish.' That phrase, 'for such a time as this,' is truly profound, isn't it? It suggests that our lives aren't just random occurrences. We are each placed in specific circumstances, with unique talents, connections, and opportunities, for a divine reason. Just like Esther, who was an orphan girl who became queen, perhaps without even fully understanding why at first. Mordecai's words were a wake-up call, urging her to see her situation not as a stroke of luck, but as a strategic placement by God for a specific mission. It makes me wonder about my own life. Where have I been placed? What opportunities or challenges am I facing right now that might be my 'for such a time as this' moment? It's easy to feel small or insignificant, but Esther's story reminds us that even one person's courage can change the course of history. The very line 'For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time...' is such a sharp reminder that sometimes, silence isn't neutral; it can be a choice with profound consequences. When we have a voice, a skill, or an opportunity to make a difference, choosing to 'hold our peace' might mean missing our divine appointment. This isn't about being perfect or having all the answers. Esther herself was terrified! She asked for three days of fasting and prayer. But she acted despite her fear, declaring, 'If I perish, I perish.' That's the kind of faith and courage that inspires me to think about my own calling. So, how do we apply 'Esther 4:14 KJV' to our lives today for finding our purpose? I think it starts with prayer and self-reflection. What are the issues in your community or sphere of influence that stir your heart? What gifts or passions has God given you? It could be something big, like advocating for justice, or something seemingly small, like being a loving presence to a friend in need. Every act of purpose-driven kindness or courage matters. Perhaps, like Esther, you've been hesitant to step out. This verse, presented so vividly, even on a purple background in the image I saw, is a powerful call to action. Don't let fear or complacency keep you from fulfilling the unique purpose you've been given. Let's ask ourselves: 'Could this moment, this opportunity, this challenge, be my "for such a time as this"?' It’s an empowering thought, reminding us that we are all part of a larger, beautiful plan.

Studying in Esther last night
One can learn a lot from studying the book of Esther. Did you know that Esther is one of only two books (the other being Song of Solomon) that does not mention God? The ironic part is that even though He is not mentioned in the book of Esther, He is ALL over it. Esther was chosen by God to save
