... Read moreInfertility can be a challenging journey emotionally and physically, and it's important to approach it with facts and hope rather than misconceptions. From my experience and conversations with others on the #ttcjourney (trying to conceive), one of the hardest parts is facing the stigma and misunderstandings about its causes. Many people may initially consider supernatural explanations like witchcraft, but medical science shows that infertility often results from conditions like hormonal imbalance, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or blocked fallopian tubes. Understanding hormonal imbalance is crucial because hormones regulate ovulation and overall reproductive health. For instance, PCOS is a common hormonal disorder that affects ovulation and causes symptoms like irregular periods. Managing PCOS with lifestyle changes such as a balanced diet, regular exercise, and medical guidance can improve fertility. Blocked fallopian tubes, on the other hand, prevent the sperm and egg from meeting, causing infertility. Diagnosis through hysterosalpingography (an X-ray test) or other methods can identify this issue, and treatments such as surgery or assisted reproductive technologies like IVF may be options. It’s helpful to connect with support networks or forums that focus on infertility and related topics (#infertility, #pcosmanagement) to share experiences and coping strategies. Remember, infertility is a medical condition, not a curse, and seeking proper diagnosis and treatment is key. Being informed empowers you to make better decisions and maintain hope throughout your journey.

Infertility and the impact on my mental health
When you dream about being a mom, about the experience of the journey of being pregnant, until the day you can hold your child, the news that because of your endometriosis, you may be infertile, is not a good thing. I found out I had endometriosis when I was 14. I didn’t take care much of that

Infertility struggles!

Infertility sucks. But here’s to our IVF journey🫶🏻
*TRIGGER WARNING* Infertility is something I wish no person could go through. The emotional and physical pain it causes very real and is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone ever. The second guessing one’s self “what’s wrong with me?!”. I had two healthy babies before and I didn’t have these issues.
