Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is more than an ovarian condition.
It is a lifelong hormonal and metabolic disorder affecting approximately 10–15% of women worldwide.
While the exact cause remains unknown, researchers believe a combination of genetic and environmental factors may contribute to its development.
As our understanding of PCOS continues to evolve, many experts now recognize that it affects the entire body—not just the ovaries. Because of this, some have proposed the term PolyMetabolic-Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) to better reflect its hormonal, metabolic, and reproductive impact.
