Merry Frostyfest and Happy late Splatoween to all who celebrate.
I have been getting lots of attention on here lately so WOW thank you! I wish all my socials blew up this quick.
ANYWAYSSS i need ur help with a decision. Ive decided for each specialfest rerun I will draw one idol illustration to correspond, however I forgot to leave a spot for big man :(
Sooo do I let big man take the squid sisters summer nights illustration (and leave theirs for Grandfest anniversary)
Make up a new fest for him (like Valentines day since he was team love)
Or figure out a way to incorporate Liquid sunshine into the Summer nights illustration so Big man is included too.
... Read moreHey everyone! Seeing all the amazing #Splatoon fanart for events like Frostyfest and Splatoween always gets me so inspired. It's truly a creative playground for artists, and I've been diving deep into it myself!
When it comes to Frostyfest, I've noticed how artists beautifully capture that chilly, festive vibe. Think about the iconic Squid Sisters, for example. You can imagine them in elegant, frosty-themed attire, maybe with delicate snowflake and star effects around them, or even a translucent, glowing quality to their designs, just like some of the cool art I've seen. The white-haired character with a veil, holding a fan, really embodies that winter wonder. It's all about bringing out those cool blues, silvers, and sparkling details.
Splatoween, on the other hand, is a whole different beast—or should I say, ghoul! The darker themes, spooky elements, and elaborate costume designs are just fantastic. I love seeing how artists portray characters with that edgy Halloween flair, perhaps a dark-skinned character with intricate jewelry and a black top, or a white-haired character in a black dress with glowing blue teeth for that extra scare factor. Sometimes you even see subtle details like pentagrams or shark-like creatures in the background, adding to the eerie atmosphere. It’s all about embracing the spooky fun!
And then there's the big question: how do we celebrate all our beloved idols, especially Big Man? It's a challenge many of us fan artists face. Do we give him his own special fest illustration, like a Valentine's Day theme since he was team love? Or can we cleverly integrate him into existing themes, perhaps by having him interact with characters like the Squid Sisters in a 'Summer Nights' scene, maybe with some 'liquid sunshine' vibes?
Creating Splatoon fanart is such a rewarding experience. It's not just about drawing characters; it's about capturing the spirit of the game, the energy of the fests, and the unique personalities of idols like the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, and Deep Cut. Whether you're focusing on the intricate details of their outfits – like the elaborate jewelry or shell headwear – or the overall mood, every piece adds to our vibrant community. Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles and themes.
If you’re ever stuck for art ideas, just look at the amazing variety of Splatoon characters and events. Each fest brings new inspiration, new color palettes, and new ways to imagine our favorite inklings, octolings, and manta rays. Share your creations, get feedback, and keep the artistic energy flowing! It's how we all grow and make our #artistsoflemon8 community even better.
