When leaving the sleep state and adjusting to waking, what is our routine? How do we prepare ourselves for the day? Do we set our goals and intentions for the day?
Directing and setting intentions for the day is not a magic spell. Rather, it helps to keep one focused on those items which are important for us to accomplish. This ritual also settles us into a creative and positive mindset. Life may have other plans for the day, of course, but taking a pause to centre ourselves and to gather forward momentum is productive.
One advantage to this method is to clarify our motivation for doing that which we do. We all meet people along the way who hate their jobs, their lives, themselves. They are a ball of misery. Oftentimes, they are contagious. They leak their virus of misery all over the place. The signpost up ahead: biohazard.
We have immunity. We do not have to succumb. We do not surrender. We decide what our precious and singular life is worth. What will we spend our time on? How will we interact with others? What is important to the growth and development of this human us? What can we do, today, to make this day as bright and as beautiful as it could be?
