Five mistakes to avoid when preparing for holidays
It’s so easy to let the holidays rush by in a blur of to-do lists, tangled lights, and high expectations — but this year, I’m learning to slow down and savor it all. 🌲
Here are 5 mistakes to avoid when preparing for the holidays, so you can actually enjoy the season you’ve been waiting for:
1. Trying to do it all yourself. Let people help. The memories are made in the mess, not in the perfection.
2. Overplanning every detail. Leave room for slow mornings, spontaneous cocoa runs, and quiet nights by the tree.
3. Forgetting what really matters. The best moments aren’t staged — they’re the laughter in the kitchen and the candlelight dinners at home.
4. Waiting until everything’s “done” to rest. You deserve peace in the process, not just when it’s over.
5. Comparing your holiday to someone else’s. Your version of cozy, joyful, and meaningful is enough — always has been.
Because the holidays were never meant to be perfect — they were meant to be peaceful. 🤍
