Finally! Got it, read it, returned it

I have waited for so long!

I put a hold on the Libby app when this was released. I was 803 in line. It dwindled down some each day.

Fast forward to a few nights ago, I found this book in target. But I put myself on a book buying ban.

Want to know more about that story? Check it out on my TikTok. Anyways!

As it was in my cart, I received an email. I had a hold, of this book, at our public library. So I picked it up yesterday. Finished it this morning at 3am! No regerts or whatever his tattoo said in that movie. 🤣

I devoured it! 10/10! Loved this.

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard me rave about 'The Missing Half' by Ashley Flowers, right? But let's dive a little deeper into why this book truly earned its 10/10 spot on my list and why I think it's a must-read for fellow thriller lovers. If you're into psychological thrillers with twists you won't see coming, then buckle up. Ashley Flowers has a way of crafting narratives that keep you guessing until the very last page. 'The Missing Half' is no exception. It delves into secrets, family ties, and the kind of suspense that makes you question everything. I found myself staying up way too late, just needing to know what would happen next. Speaking of captivating, can we talk about the book cover? I absolutely loved the design. It's so striking and perfectly hints at the mystery within without giving anything away. It’s the kind of cover that makes you pick it up in a bookstore, even if you hadn't heard of it before. I saw it looking so inviting on a blue blanket adorned with white floral patterns, and it just called to me. I also saw a picture of someone holding it up, and the cover really pops. For those who might be new to Ashley Flowers, she's a powerhouse in the true-crime world with her 'Crime Junkie' podcast, and she brings that same investigative intensity to her novels. Her writing style is so engaging; it’s like she’s telling you a story personally. This isn't just another thriller; it feels meticulously researched and crafted. Knowing her background made me appreciate the depth she brings to her fictional worlds even more. It’s always exciting to see how an author evolves, and 'The Missing Half' truly showcases her prowess as a novelist. What really resonated with me was how the story explored complex relationships and the lingering effects of the past. It’s more than just a whodunit; it’s a deep dive into character psychology. If you appreciate a story that makes you think long after you've turned the final page, this is definitely for you. I honestly couldn’t put it down, and that feeling of being completely immersed is what I chase in every book. It was one of those reads where you feel like you've been on a whole journey with the characters. And as an aside, I always appreciate a good dedication. The one in 'The Missing Half' was particularly touching – 'To the two women, who long ago as girls, taught us what sisterhood meant. Allisa Flowers & Rachel Kiester, this one is for you!' It adds another layer of personal connection to the story, reminding you that there's heart behind the suspense. Given how popular Ashley Flowers' books are, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some beautiful special editions for 'The Missing Half' down the line. As a book lover, I'm always on the lookout for unique versions of my favorite reads. This book certainly feels like one that fans would want to collect and display. It's the kind of story that truly stands out from the crowd. So, if you're looking for your next gripping read, seriously consider 'The Missing Half'. It’s a compelling narrative from an author who truly knows how to build suspense and deliver a satisfying, albeit shocking, conclusion. You won't regret picking this one up!
