Top Free Things to Do in NYC (part 1)

There's a million things to do in NYC and it can take you monthsss to complete everything to do on your list. From someone who's grown up having New York City as her backyard, here are my top free things to do in nyc (pt 1):

- Walk the Highline: this 1.45 mile long walk is one of my favorite things to do in NYC. It stretches along Gansevoort Street to 34th Street, between 10th and 12th Ave, with food pop ups and art installations to enjoy. It also leads you directly to The Vessel and Hudson Yards, if you are walking uptown.

- Little Island: this 'little island' is off the Hudson River Pier, with stunning gardens and viewpoints of the Hudson River. It's absolutely free, has shows throughout the year, and has a lot of little sections to visit

- The Vessel: this honeycomb structure easily attracts thousands of visitors to NYC a year. It's right by the Hudson Yards where there are shops, restaurants, and bars to dine in at after your visit. Admission is free but just remember to reserve your spot online!

Beyond the Highline, visitors can explore Central Park, which offers a tranquil escape amidst the urban hustle. The park features stunning landscapes, walking paths, and iconic landmarks like Bethesda Terrace and the Bow Bridge. Another must-visit is the Staten Island Ferry, which provides breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline at no cost. For art enthusiasts, the Museum Mile offers an array of renowned museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian, with free entry on specific days and times. Additionally, street performances in places like Washington Square Park provide a vibrant cultural experience. For those interested in history, the 9/11 Memorial is a poignant site to honor the lives lost and reflect on the past. Whether you're seeking nature, art, or history, NYC ensures that unforgettable experiences await without breaking the bank!
